DEVOLUTION

December 18, 2012

I had the greatest of pleasures meeting Mark Mothersbaugh from DEVO at the Day On The Green gigs in the Yarra Valley. Very cool guy. He has written 50+ soundtracks, including all of Wes Andersons film scores, Finding Nemo and countless others. I photographed Devo at Club Soda in Montreal in 1978, and they were brilliant! Like I always say, it’s a long race.

Couldn’t resist one more I found today. The original Ziggy Stardust guitar player Mick Ronson with Mott The Hoople’s Ian Hunter! Ground control to Major Tom!

BOWIE

December 14, 2012

I was trolling through an old box of negs at the insistence of my long time canadian pal Mike Campbell, who wants proof sheets of all the great bands we saw as kids. So much stuff! Shot these pics of the Thin White Duke in Adelaide, Nov.1983.

KID’S STUFF

December 11, 2012

Apologies to Martin Parr, but I reckon this kid’s birthday party food looked a little odd to me.

NGV DREAMING

December 7, 2012

Always a pleasure to drop by the NGV on a hot day. I love the interior. I photographed the architectural model for Mario Bellini before the refurbishment started, and I visualize it every time I go there.

HOCKNEY_B

Just read ‘Conversations With David Hockney’, highly recommended just for the way he sees the world and all things visual. My homage to him.
